About Us

Anhui Wound Solutions has adeptly addressed the challenges posed by uncontrolled hemorrhage by introducing chitosan-based hemostatic sponges seamlessly enriched with hydroxyapatite and montmorillonite. This ingenious fusion has created a paradigm shift in hemostasis, offering an integrated solution that leverages the porous structure to discharge wound secretions efficiently while boasting high liquid absorption and platelet aggregation for rapid clot formation. The sponges’ easy functionalization has conferred potent antibacterial properties, bolstering postoperative recovery. Their substantial compression capabilities have established robust physical hemostasis, effectively curbing blood loss.
To treat uncontrolled bleeding in complex wound environments, the company’s chitosan-based hemostatic sponges have become the most important and effective tools because of the excellent biocompatibility, degradability, hemostasis, and antibacterial properties of chitosan and their unique sponge-like morphology for high fluid absorption rate and priority aggregation of blood cells/platelets to achieve rapid hemostasis. By synergistically harnessing the benefits of chitosan, hydroxyapatite, and montmorillonite, the company’s innovation has emerged as a comprehensive, advanced approach that equips medical professionals with powerful tools to elevate surgical success, diminish complications, and save lives.

Problems To Solve

Limitations of Existing Hemostatic Agents

The use of various hemostatic materials has posed certain problems in their applications. Most hemostatic materials have necessitated external pressure during use, which can be cumbersome. Fibrin hemostats, while effective, may have led to allergic reactions and have been difficult to preserve adequately. Collagen hemostats, despite their fast dissolution, have suffered from poor mechanical properties. Also, cellulose hemostats have had the potential to cause inflammation and impede tissue repair.

Constraints of Chitosan Sponges

Using a sponge containing only a single component, such as chitosan or gelatin, has proven insufficient in meeting the comprehensive wound repair needs. Although chitosan can be blended with other polymers, this combination may lead to a drawback as they can be easily washed away by blood or water during use, reducing their efficacy. Moreover, chitosan sponges have suffered from several disadvantages, including poor mechanical properties, a tendency for large brittleness, and rapid degradation under acidic conditions. Despite its antibacterial properties, chitosan alone has not been adequate to prevent wound infections.

Our Solution

The Company has enhanced the hemostatic and anti-infective properties of chitosan by grafting hydrophobic alkyl chains onto the chitosan backbone. This innovative modification has significantly enhanced the sponge’s ability to stop bleeding swiftly, ensuring faster hemostasis in critical situations.
